Tree tranquility…

I’ve always loved being by the sea… listening to the rhythmic sound as each wave rolls in.

But increasingly I’ve realised just how much I love being in trees.

We’re surrounded by beautiful gum trees at home, so I think… over the years… trees have become my happy place.

We’ve spent the last few nights at Binna Burra in Lamington National Park.

It’s a truly special place… but years since we’ve been here…

The last time was just months before devastating bushfires ripped through the area, destroying the old lodge and pioneer rooms in which we’d stayed.

This was the view from our recent stay…

There were so many time when we heard absolutely nothing but birds…

At night you could hear a pin drop.

Then there’s walking in the sensational national park.

In and amongst ancient trees…

Everywhere around here… the views are stunning…

Even as we moved on to Tamborine Mountain…

And now, as I’m writing this, I’m looking out onto gum trees and rainforest Piccabeen Palms…

I’m mindful of the general sense of quiet calmness this environment brings to me…

A sense of stillness…all around me… and within me.

Immersed in nature… and those stunning trees.

Yup. Definitely in my happy place.

Ann 🙏
